23. Stanway House & Fountain
Stanway House & Fountain is a beautiful Jacobean manor, once owned by the Tewkesbury Abbey for 800 years, and has a gatehouse, 14th-century Tithe Barn and church laid out in beautiful grounds for you to explore at your leisure. It’s also home to an 18th century water garden, the highest gravity fountain in the world shooting at an impressive 300 feet.
It is a short drive from Broadway, but Stanway House in Cheltenham is a truly unique Cotswold attraction that is definitely worth the visit. The surrounding villages, farms, parkland and woodland all subtly combine to create a gorgeous picture postcard setting, ideal for those who appreciate quaint beauty. It is also dog friendly, dogs are allowed on leads so it would be a great opportunity to bring the whole family.
Stanway is only open to the public during the summer months, however you can book private tours, for large groups too, during the closed season. If you want to experience something quite rare, be sure to catch the fountain displays, which will leave you speechless.
