Broadway Methodist Church
The Methodist church in Broadway, situated near the top of the High Street, has stood since 1812 and is the forth largest Christian denominational church. Methodism can be traced back to the 18th century when John Wesley, who was a major figure of the Evangelical Protestant movement, led an evangelical revival during the 18th century. Wesley formed individual societies who had a deeper connection with the Christian religion and wanted to live a more religious life. Dubbed the 'Holy club', Wesley and his peers focused on Bible study, methodical study of scripture and adopted a more disciplined lifestyle according to the faith.
The Broadway Methodist church is open for refreshments on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. The church is also available for hire and also hosts many clubs and organisations throughout the year, such as embroidery and sewing classes. Everyone is most welcome to join Rev Christine Kettlety for Sunday worship at 10.30am.
