Broadfest: Food/music festival
Singing and Dancing sensation Ray Quinn headlined at the 2014 Broadfest Festival in Broadway, Worcestershire. Ray 25, had a number one album 'Doing It My Way' in 2007 and earlier in 2014 year went on to win ITV's Dancing On Ice Champion of Champions. The cheeky chappie started out as an actor appearing in the Channel 4 soap Brookside in 2000 but won the hearts of the nation when he appeared in ITV's The X Factor in 2006 finishing 2nd to Leona Lewis.
Ray appeared at Broadfest over the weekend of the 12th & 13th of July performing alongside artists from all four corners of the UK. Broadfest, in its second year attracted over 7000 people in 2013 and is the brainchild of Gary Thompson who lives in the village. Gary, who has worked in the industry for many years managing artists, some who have appeared on X Factor was delighted that Ray agreed to perform. He said 'using my knowledge and experience, it was always my vision to provide a summer party for the residents of Broadway, but it's success has enabled me to attract more prominent artists'
The 2014 line up also included the welcome return of Rock Choir and finalists of Wychavon's 'W Factor' alongside young up & coming artists.
