Broadway Players conjure up a magical musical treat with The Wizard of Oz!
Broadway Players is delighted to announce it will be staging the RSC’s musical stage version of the ever popular 1939 MGM screenplay, The Wizard of Oz at the Lifford Hall, Broadway from Thursday, 30th November– Sunday, 3rd December 2017.
This enchanting adaptation follows Dorothy Gale of Kansas as she is transported by a tornado from her family's farmstead to Munchkinland, at the other end of the rainbow. In her quest to return home Dorothy must seek help from the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Along her journey to the magical Land of Oz, she meets a Scarecrow, who lacks a brain, or so he thinks; a Tin Man, who has no heart and a cowardly Lion, who would like to have some courage. But does Dorothy reach the Land of Oz and can the wonderful Wizard of Oz help her to get home to Kansas? Or will the Wicked Witch of the West get her hands on Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers and prevent her from reaching the Land of Oz?
With a large cast of over 35 local thespians, lavish costumes and staging, and a show full of unforgettable musical numbers from the movie score including 'Over the Rainbow', 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road', 'If I Only had a Heart' and 'We're off to see the Wizard' this is an evening for adults and children alike to enjoy.
