Broadway Train Station Opening on Good Friday
First public trains to and from Broadway since 1960 on Good Friday to Easter Monday 2nd April.
For the first time in 58 years, a steam train will be pulling into Broadway Station on the morning of Good Friday 30th March. After years of hard work, the 900 volunteers who make up the workforce of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway have now relaid and joined up the track, built the station building and will be operating steam and heritage diesel trains to Cheltenham Racecourse from Easter for the season. Trains are of course very likely to be busy over the Easter weekend with tourists and enthusiasts alike wanting a ride on the train. From Easter onwards, trains will operate on a regular basis - see their website www.gwsr.com for details. This means that from 2018, Broadway residents have a new major tourist attraction on their doorstep and a new means to get into Cheltenham.
