Opening of The Fish Hotel
On the 1st of June Broadway opened its arms and welcomed the most exciting and newest luxury boutique hotel to land in the Cotswolds.
Idyllically situated just a stone's throw down from Broadway Tower, nestled deep within the private 400-acres of rolling-hill countryside of the Farncombe Estate and overlooking the panoramic Vale of Evesham, lies The Fish Hotel; a fantastic new country hideaway where it has to be said, their welcome is rather warm indeed.
Sister to the celebrated Foxhill Manor and Dormy Hotel, The Fish comprises of 47 stunningly lavish, affordable rooms set out in a village-style microcosm of the quintessential Cotswolds. You can tailor the luxury to suit, by choosing between cosy standards and spacious superior rooms for that extra touch of home comfort. Or for those whose idea of a luxury getaway involves super-king beds, wood-burning stoves and a private outdoor terrace area, The Fish has 4 fabulous junior suites to stay in.
One reason amongst many to stay at The Fish is the food. With double-rosette Head Chef, Mark Coleman steering the culinary ship, guests can expect the finest seasonal flavours and locally-sourced ingredients, prepared following old family recipes donated by the The Fish team. The Lodge restaurant offers the choice between a mouth-watering 'gastro-buffet' laid out in a beautiful banquet or opt for fine dining from the à la carte bar menu. With either option, you'll enjoy panoramic landscapes from the Conservatory and Terrace while you dine. If you desire more romance, why not try dining alfresco style with a picnic whilst marvelling at the breathtaking views of the sun setting over the Vale of Evesham before dusk takes hold. However you decide to dine, it's abundantly clear The Fish knows how to please.
The good thing about The Fish is it doesn't take itself too seriously either. Quite opposite, they encourage fun and silliness with a host of wacky activities to choose from. You can spend the day on a segway safari exploring the beautiful parkland estate looking for the wild Red Deer that roam free, or increase the speed (and thrill) with quad bikes! If you're into archery, shooting, cycling - pretty much any activity worth its salt in excitement, The Fish has got it covered. It's that kind of place where you can let your hair down and put your feet up. In fact, be warned - the hotel's cosy Scandi-setting will probably make you abandon your adrenaline fix and entice you to retire around the 360° open log fire, accompanied by soft jazz and a strong drink!
If you're the type of traveller who refuses to stay still, the charming village of Broadway is a little less than 30-minutes walk and is considered to be the gateway to the northern Cotswolds. The Fish provides the perfect base to explore the Cotswolds, and whilst it may feel far from civilisation, the market towns of Chipping Campden and Stow-on-the-Wold are all within close proximity. Slightly further afield, but just as easily accessible, are the historic towns of Cheltenham, Stratford-Upon-Avon and Oxford, which are only a short drive away.
Make your stay a luxurious one. You'll feel like a fish in water.
