Inspiring Broadway Shop Raises Incredible Amount For Charity
A local shop in Broadway has been raising money for the Acorns Children's Hospice by hosting a fashion show in the village.
Slate Clothing, located on the High Street, is an independent womenswear boutique offering the very best in hand-picked ladies' fashion for every occasion. They are lauded for their individuality and style, whilst providing the ultimate shopping experience, however their passion isn’t just about fashion. Slate are also devoted to raising funds for a children’s charity who they have forged a close association with since they began trading in 2012.
In March, they hosted a Spring Fashion Show at The Broadway Hotel, which raised an incredible £1,589 for Acorns; a charity devoted to providing care for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and support for their families. The fashion shows, although limited in numbers, are open to everyone who wish to come and admire Slate’s latest seasonal collection, all the while supporting a worthy cause that have three hospices across the Midlands, including one in Worcester.
Slate, who have another store in Burford, have continuously been raising money since the shop was first opened by philanthropist Gilly Aspey. The hugely popular fashion shows, which run twice-yearly in Spring and Autumn, have so far totalled a massive £13,936. This figure is set to rise in the future as they continue to host more fashion shows and in store events, a quite remarkable achievement for the local clothing shop.
